There’s a referendum happening at UBC.
Voting NO is crucial to the Credibility of the AMS.

Credibility matters: At a time when the world is so polarized – an unhealthy polarization that we feel on campus here at UBC – we need strong advocates to fight for students and the issues that matter the most to YOU and YOUR future.

If passed, this referendum will:

  • Provoke a student strike that will needlessly polarize students
  • Force students to “pick a side” on a complex foreign conflict based on a simplistic and unbalanced binary
  • Damage the credibility of the AMS as an advocacy body for ALL students, alienating moderate and thoughtful students and damaging multicultural inclusivity
  • Distract from the vital issues that affect students and YOUR future success – in the sole interest of an extremist minority scoring ideological points at YOUR expense
  • Have little or no positive impacts for Palestinians, Israelis or anyone else – but potentially grave impacts for YOUR education, the legitimacy of the AMS, and the quality of YOUR degree in the eyes of reasonable people, including potential employers.
